ASHPP closes 2016 on a high note

Twelve months ago, ASHPP was celebrating 5 years of implementation with only 2 TAs declared ODF by the National Open Defecation Free Taskforce (NOTF). Today the number has more than doubled to 18 and is expected to grow significantly bigger within the next few months.

Government happy with ASHPP sub-grantees’ ODF contribution

The Ministry of Health, through the South-East Zone Health Supervisor Dr. MacDonald Msadala, has heaped praise on ASHPP sub-grantees for the commendable job they are doing in supporting communities achieve ODF status.

Speaking during the certification of TA Chiwalo of Phalombe in November 2016, Dr. Msadala acknowledged how the programme is rapidly achieving results through its sub-grantees particularly Concern Universal who are working in the whole of Phalombe.

ASHPP strategizes for three-district ODF

ASHPP’s target of achieving ODF for three districts by June 2017 has never looked realistic. So much promising progress is being made in the target districts of Balaka, Nkhotakota and Rumphi where partners and communities have been very dedicated to chalk historical milestones for their districts.
